Personal branding photography for Houston med spa, 987 Aesthetics.

When it was time for Alex Ochoa, the owner of 987 Aesthetics, to update her social media and website imagery for her med spa, I was happy to join the creative team responsible for her online presence. Her social media manager, Jennifer Perez is a great colleague of mine and referred Alex during a mini-session special I ran last year.

With all the things we manage as businesses, it took a few months to finally get on the books, but we made it happen and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Creative Direction

For this brand image refresh, Alex wanted a set of updated team headshots, a few team photos, and some behind-the-scenes photos of her nurses in action.

We had a few challenges with the space being a little tight, so we ultimately decided on shooting the headshots in a decorated hallway that allowed for space around the subject but offered some visual interest. I would have loved to shoot these outdoors because her spa is located in Houston’s gorgeous West University neighborhood, but it was raining that day. Oh Houston, keeping us on our toes.

Behind-The-Scenes

For the behind-the-scenes photos, we focused on one of her most popular procedures, botox injections. Alex and her team hold the philosophy that less is more. Their mission is to enhance their client’s natural beauty and youthful appearance without changing the way someone looks to the people that know them. I absolutely loved hearing that because I share that philosophy when offering retouching services to my clients.

To wrap up the session we shot some team photos in the reception area, featuring her team as well as highlighting the brand with her spa logo featured prominently in the background.
